What Does Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2017 Do?

Bitdefender is an antivirus software program that protects your computer from nefarious files, viruses, malware, Trojans, etc. It automatically blocks a dangerous website’s access to your computer—and tracks and blocks websites that are known for scamming and credit card phishing. Bitdefender’s vulnerability scanner alerts you if your software is missing something or is outdated. Its Autopilot feature handles any encountered issues without sending pesky pop-ups. It also gives you the ability to monitor your computer from afar with the Remote Management feature. In addition, Bitdefender offers other privacy tools such as a file shredder and personal data filter—which are fantastic for keeping highly private information (SS numbers, bank accounts, etc.) from being stolen from your computer.

 

Our Findings

The installation (which was an upgrade from our older version to the new) was relatively simple and pain-free. Right off the bat, we found that Bitdefender worked well with Windows. It’s new U.I. (User Interface) may not be for all, but it is nice and relatively easy to navigate after an adjustment period.

 

Bitdefender did a bang-up job of detecting and containing suspicious programs on our computers. It also removed the malware without hassle and in a fair amount of time. It scanned for—and located—possible problems much faster than the former versions.

Needs Improvement

  • While not a big issue, the U.I. can be a little confusing to navigate—depending on your personal preferences.
  • The program can cause a system to lag if you have a slow P.C. to begin with—but not too badly.

 

User Skill/Experience Required

The older version was problematic when it came to installation, but we found no issues with the updated version. The program itself is relatively easy to use and should not be too difficult for a beginner to master.
